The Sunair T-9000D is a proven solution in communications applications where rugged, reliable and flexible equipment is required.

The next-generation transmitter operates in modes of AME, NB-FM, USB, LSB, ISB, CW, and Data (with external modems).

The T-9000D utilizes software-defined digital signal processing (DSP) technology to enhance functionality in the synthesizer, audio and IF, which is designed to support the latest developments in high-speed data waveform technology.

When paired with the R-9000D, the T-9000D offers Automatic Link Establishment (ALE) as an internal option in accordance with MIL-STD-188-141A and FS1045A, and supports 141B and STANAG 4538 and 5066 through external controllers.

This technology enhances the functionality of the CPU as well as the Synthesizer, Audio, and IF stages.

The Sunair T-10000B is the hallmark solution for mission-critical communications applications requiring reliable coverage.

The transmitter system combines solid-state radio and RF power amplification and control technology to produce a fail-safe high power solution that operates in a frequency range of 1.5 MHz to 30 MHz.

Maximum power output is 10 kW at 100% duty cycle to facilitate long-range hemispheric communications when coupled with the appropriate antenna.

Power is reducible in 1 dB steps down to the 1 kW level. Standard operating voltage is three phase 338 – 458 Vac, 47 to 63 Hz with a modest power requirement of ≤ 35 kVA.

The Sunair LPA-9500 and LPA-9600 are proven solutions in communications applications where rugged and reliable high power amplifiers are required.

The amplifiers combine solid-state RF power amplification and control technology to produce reliable HF power at continuous duty.

The LPAs interface directly with the 9000D series of radios and transmitters, and operate over a frequency range of 1.5 MHz to 30 MHz, delivering rated output for a load VSWR up to 2:1 over the full-temperature operating range, with graceful degradation for load VSWR up to 3:1.

The amplifiers are protected from damage due to load VSWR above 3:1 and short or open circuits.

The Sunair CU-9150 is a proven solution in communications applications where rugged, reliable, flexible, and adaptable equipment is required.

The next-generation antenna coupler has the ability to tune a wide variety of antennas over the entire HF band. The CU-9150 operates continuous duty at power levels up to 1kW Average / 1 kW PEP over 2 – 30 MHz and 500W Average / 1 kW PEP over 500W over 1.5 – 2 MHz.

The antenna coupler uses a high speed digitally-tuned network to support whips and long wire antennas, while a built-in microprocessor controls internal selectable RF circuit elements to provide 50 coaxial feed line impedance, with a maximum 1.5:1 VSWR.

Typical tuning time is less than 4 seconds at any new frequency across 1.5 – 30 MHz, and 30 ms from memory.

The Sunair RCU-9310D is a full-function remote control unit designed for use with the 9000D series of radios, transmitters, and receivers.

The next generation RCU’s front panel, with TFT display and keyboard entry, is identical to the unit being controlled, providing operational ease.

The RCU provides the same operating modes as the radio, including AME, NB-FM, USB, LSB, ISB, CW, and Data (with external modems); and it is also capable of remotely controlling the Automatic Link Establishment (ALE) functions of the RT-9000D when the radio is equipped with the internal ALE option.

The RCU-9310D provides remote operation of Sunair peripheral equipment, including the F-9800 Pre-Selector/Post-Selector, LPA-9500/LPA-9600 Power Amplifiers, and CU-9125/CU-9150 Antenna Couplers.

The Sunair F-9800 permits operation of collocated 9000 series transceivers, transmitters, or receivers on frequencies with as small as a 10% separation.

When used with the R-9000D Software-Defined HF/ISB Receiver, the F-9800 functions as a pre-selector and provides an additional front end selectivity stage, reducing the receiver desensitization and overload that normally occurs in the presence of strong adjacent RF transmissions.

When used with the T-9000D Software-Defined HF/ISB Transmitter, the F-9800 functions as a post-selector, rejecting spurious outputs and broadband noise in the transmit signal before it reaches the Sunair LPA power amplifiers, thereby limiting interference to collocated receivers.

A separate transmit antenna port provides the flexibility of using either a single antenna or separate transmit and receive antennas; and the keyline over coax feature prevents damage to the unit from high power RF transmission by reducing the control time delay of transmit-to-receive switching.

KY-9120 Line Interface Unit

The Sunair KY-9120 provides audio, keyline, and RS-232 digital control connectivity between the Sunair 9000D series radios and control sites over dry copper or conventional E1 network interfaces.

Each of the respective audio, keyline, and control inputs and outputs are multiplexed, and each can be independently mapped to any of the line interfaces.

Standard line interfaces are the DSL using 2B1Q coding as well as E1.

Future enhancement line interfaces are T1, Fiber and VoIP.

The maximum distance between sites is determined by the interface selected and the number and quality of audio channels carried.
